Kinesiology Taping
Christopher Harper, PT, DPT, OCS
Christopher Harper, PT, DPT, OCS serves as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for KT Tape, instructing clinical staff of multiple national governing bodies including US Women’s Soccer and US Speed Skating. World renown for applications of kinesiology taping after being featured in KT Tape’s online instructional videos dubbed in 26 languages, Chris also teaches evidence-based kinesiology taping for DPT, PTA and AT-C programs including the University of Utah and Provo College. Chris currently is an owner and practicing physical therapist with Active Lifestyles Physical Therapy in Draper, Utah.
Presentation Description:
eduKT®’s instructional platforms were first developed in 2010 with the mission of educating medical professionals in the practical application of light elastic/kinesiology tape through the best available evidence and clinical expertise. This abbreviated 2-hour tutorial reviews the foundational principles of kinesiology taping for immediate use in your practice. The effect of kinesiology tape is largely dependent on how the tape is applied, with application techniques targeting desired outcomes. Kinesiology taping is traditionally used to modify muscle function, lymphatic uptake, pain, proprioception and mechanics. This condensed approach allows the provider to learn application of kinesiology tape in clinical practice without memorization of specific application recipes.
